Yes we done it! When will we do it again……..NEVER!!!!!! well maybe one day. I will say ‘what an expeirence’, we started early made the start for 8:50, just enough time to get stripped for action put our bags on the lorry, and visit the loo. Then we joined all the other people in pen 9, for the red start, it took us 15 mins or so to get through the start and we were off. The first mile went by in a blink, as did the following 3 or 4, cutty sark was a bit of a dissapointment with the renevations going on and all that. But the ‘other side’ of the river had it’s up and downs parts we quite and very strange others were vibrant and lound. Tower Bridge was great, half way a real good feeling, we made 15miles no problem, then Deb’s leg sarting going dead. We managed to jog and walk to mile 17 where we had lots of support, then through Canary Wharf more support which was great as we were wet and cold. Through the hail stones and rain onto mile 20 at the bottom of the Highway, and onto Tower Hill and the Embankment. Then we hit a problem Deb’s leg went completly dead, she couldnt even lift it and at this point cold in pain and struggling we pushed on. With Deb leaning on me we managed the last few miles that became extreamly painful and difficult with every step, but she did it! We did it! What a journey full of emotion pain and glory. Deb you are an inspiration to all. So for me if you want to something, just do it! I must say this has been emotional. Thanks for reading take care see you soon. Side note all who competed on Saturday in the WTSD nationals well done!!! Tang Soo Paul

Well here we are time seems to have flown by, only six days to the big day! We had a resonable week covering 7.5 & 5 miles on our mid week runs, with a last 10 mile run on Sunday. I actually ran on Sunday a big relif for me, the calf is quite sore but no real pain so hopefully I’ll get round on Sunday. Deb’s is still going like a real trooper, 10 miles in 1 hour 43 minutes which I think is good going all thing considered. Hopefully we can do the same on the day. So a nice ‘run’ down into Sunday and hopefully it’s not too warm! Given the snow again this weekend I am optimistic it will be cool. Take care and pop back next week and I’ll let you know how we got on. Paul

Well here we are 13 days to go, last long run yesterday. I accompined Deb’s on her 20 mile jaunt, can’t say I ran as such, more walked quickly and jogged to catch up every 5 yards or so. But I managed 8.5 miles before I had to quit and just walk, completed 10 miles so I was pleased with the way the injury is healing. Deb on the other hand did fantastic 20 miles in 4 hours 40 mins, the bad news cos I know your wondering what that is, is that she fell over again at around 14 miles. But in the spirit the girl has she picked herself up walked home for the a mile, had a drink composed herself and completed 5 miles on the treadmill. An absolutly top effort, an ispiration to us all. So not long now we begin to taper this week and next with mid weeks runs of no more that 7 miles and only 10 miles on the coming Sunday. I’ll let you know how this week goes next Monday. Take Care have a good week. paul

Well, what an easter, SNOW…..made running dificult, well for us anyway. We never made the run on Sunday, time we eat all our choclate we were stuffed! So we ran on Monday. Deb decided it was just too cold to run outside so we fired up the running machine. Deb ran 17 miles in 3.5 hours which was realy good going. Me? well my calf felt really good, had a nice stretch and warm up even managed a few jumping jacks, walked for a mile gradualy increasing the speed then felt great so I had a little jog, still going great ran for 2 mile before the pain hit and I had to stop. So I now have 17 days to be fit I guess, I will need a bit longer than the week I’ve just given the injury. Still last long run on Sunday penciled in 20 miles, so its going to be a long walk for me! I think I’m going to struggle to keep up with Deb. Anyway catch you soon. Paul

Not a good running weekend for me! We had a nice 3 miles Friday night before I went training with RTSD. Warmed up OK, then as the sprinting started, my calf popped! Now I have a torn calf and will not be able to run again until I have had a pain free week, bummer. It’s only 4 weeks left, 2 weeks of long runs the we begin taper off…it’s going to tougher now than I knew it was going to be. On a brighter note Deb managed 15 miles on the treadmill in a blistering 2:45hours, so while I keep Deb training I need to heal quickley. Still there we are for this time I’ll post an update soon. Take Care

Well Guys, we made our sponsorship! So a big ’thank you’ to all of you who have sponsord us and it’s still not too late, http://www.justgiving.com/DebsnPaul.
So we have had many up’s and down’s some literal, longest run to-date 13.5 miles in 3.5 hours. We have missed 10 days training prior to completing our half marathon as we both went down with colds, a real bummer but we managed the long run last Sunday. Deb’s had a very nasty fall about 3 weeks ago that took the enjoyment out of running for a while, but in true Deb’s style she keeps going!
Deb’s is finding it hard, sometimes she can manage 7.5 miles without any issue another day like Sunday she only managed 2.5 miles and her leg just did’nt want to work! but that’s the effect of MS, I keep saying it will be an achievment to complete the marathon healthy let alone with MS. So fingers crossed we will see you at the fininsh line. So that’s a very condensed update, check back next week and let you know how we are doing. Take Care Paul
